CELTIC BRITAIN, Catuvellauni & Trinovantes. Cunobelin, c. 8-41. Stater (Gold, 16mm, 5.38 g 10), first issue, Camulodunon (Colchester). CAMVL on a central panel over vertical wreath with alternate heart shapes and bucrania in the angles. Rev. [CVNOBELIN] Two horses galloping to left (the deconstructed remains of a biga) with a leaf above and a ‘wheel’ below. ABC 2771. BMC 1769-71. VA 1910. Beautifully toned and unusually nice. Reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
