CELTIC BRITAIN, Catuvellauni & Trinovantes. Cunobelin, c. 8-41. Quarter Stater (Gold, 12mm, 1.40 g 10), first issue, Camulodunon (Colchester). CAMVL on a central panel over vertical wreath with alternate heart shapes and bucrania in the angles. Rev. CVNO Two horses galloping to left (the deconstructed remains of a biga) with a leaf above and a ‘wheel’ below. ABC 2807. BMC 1836-36A. VA 1927. Very rare. Nicely toned. Reverse slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
