Laureate head of bearded Janus; I (mark of value) above / Prow of galley right; I (mark of value) above, spearhead to right. Crawford 88/3b (citing only 1 specimen of two varieties in Paris); Russo, "Unpublished Roman Republican Bronze Coins," in Essays Hersh, p. 143, 49; Sydenham 224 var. (spearhead above). VF, dark brown and gray patina, an area of red on obverse, areas of minor roughness. Extremely rare.
