Pescennius Niger. AD 193-194. AR Denarius (2.72 g, 6h). Antioch mint. IMP CAES C PESCEN NIGER IVST AV, laureate head right / FORTVN-AE RE, Fortuna seated left, holding cornucopia and patera. RIC IV 20 var. (wreath instead of cornucopia); BMC 301† var. (same); RSC 21 var. (same). Good VF, typical light porosity. Impressive strike on full flan; rare as such.

Although RIC questions the completion of the reverse legend, this example clearly shows the termination of REDVCI as simply RE for this type. Additionally, Fortuna seated with a cornucopia and patera instead of a wreath and patera is unlisted in any of the references.
