SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.24 g, 1h). Dies signed by Eu(menos). Struck circa 415-405 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand and reins in both, driving fast quadriga left; above, Nike flying right, crowning charioteer with wreath; EV below; in exergue, dolphin and fish right / Diademed head of Arethusa left, wearing necklace; ΣYPAKOΣIOИ above, EV behind neck, four dolphins around. Tudeer 33 (V11/R17); SNG ANS 264 (same dies): BMC 146; Boston MFA 403; SNG Lockett 963; de Luynes 1173; Weber 1597 (all from the same dies). Good VF, attractively toned. Well centered on a broad flan.
