BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Plato. Circa 145-140 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.70 g, 12h). Diademed and draped bust right, wearing helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear / BAΣIΛEΩΣ EΠIΦANOYΣ ΠΛATΩNOΣ, Helios standing facing in quadriga; MT monogram to upper right, MZ in exergue. Bopearachchi Série 3A; MIG Type 197; SNG ANS 631 (same obv. die); Bopearachchi & Rahman -; Qunduz 381 (same dies). Good VF, lightly toned, porous, rough on reverse. Extremely rare and the first to appear since the specimen in the Wahler Collection (Numismatic Fine Arts XXV, 29 November 1990, lot 234).
