Lead hemimina. Greek, 2nd-1st centuries BC. Facing male head, with lines resembling flowing hair framing the entirety of the head, over floral pattern of four petals; symbol or letter above, I-Γ flanking, HMIMИAIИ below; all within linear circular frame / Floral pattern of six petals within linear frame of two concentric circles. Weight: 283.30 g. Good VF condition, brown and gray patina with some scattered spots of red, damage to nose of figure. A highly interesting piece.


The six-petaled floral pattern on the reverse is similar to the designs found on weights from the Cyclades (see the illustrated specimens in J.F. de Rochesnard, Album des poids antiques, vol. 2, p. 40).
