NORMAN. Henry I. 1100-1135. AR Penny (1.25 g, 10h). Quadrilateral on cross fleury type (BMC XV). Exeter mint; Alwine(?), moneyer. Struck circa 1125-1135. +hEHRICVS:, crowned bust facing slightly left, holding scepter with lis terminal / +A[ELW(?)]I: ON: EXCES:, quadrilateral on cross fleury. Cf. Andrew p. 196; SCBI -; cf. BMC 219; North 871; SCBC 1276. Good VF, flan wrinkled at edge. This moneyer's name apparently is not fully legible on any of the known coins of Exeter.
