KINGS of PONTOS. Mithradates VI Eupator. Circa 120-63 BC. AV Stater (8.35 g, 1h). First Mithradatic War issue. Kallatis mint. Struck in the name of Lysimachos of Thrace, circa 88-86 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander right / Athena Nikephoros seated left; monogram to inner left, KAΛ below throne, ornamented trident in exergue. Callataÿ p. 140 (D3/R- [unlisted rev. die]); AMNG I 265. Good VF, minor die wear, graffito (H) in field on reverse.

There appears to be a monogram above Athena’s arm that was erased in the die. One can discern a chevron-barred AP monogram, but there are indications that the monogram may have more components.
