Gold crescent pendant. Roman, 1st-3rd centuries AD. Rounded concave plate tapering toward the end, the facing surface ornamented with a series of gold globules in groups of one, two, or four. Loop formed of a series of twisted wire decorated with an inverted triangle of globules. Height: 4.2cm. A few globules missing, but otherwise a well-preserved pendant of a type popular for both its aesthetic appeal and religious/magical properties.
