Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.23 g, 6h). Uncertain mint. IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / EXPE[...], Britannia standing right, holding wreath in left hand and clasping right hands with Carausius; altar between them. RIC V -; Shiel p. 119, 9 and pl. O, 9 (this coin); RSC 36 (this coin cited). Good VF, toned, porous. The only example known to Shiel and RSC.
