THESSALY, Larissa. Mid to late 4th century BC. AR Stater (25mm, 12.24 g, 12h). Head of the nymph Larissa three-quarter facing l., wearing plain necklace and drop pendant earring, her hair held by an ampyx; border of dots / ΛΑΡ above, ΙΣ downwards to the r., ΑΙΩN below, bridled horse trotting r., tail upright and looped. See L. Hamburger 98 (3 April 1933) 545 (same dies). Near EF, lightly toned, the obverse not perfectly centred and a small die flaw starting on the rev. above the first A; this reverse letter disposition extremely rare.
