THESSALY, Pharsalos. Early to mid 4th century BC. AR Trihemiobol (13mm, 1.22 g, 12h). Helmeted head of Athena facing, turned slightly to l., above r., Λ / Φ-A-P-Σ from middle l., up r. and circular, armoured and helmeted warrior with bird perched upon his helmet, riding prancing horse decorated with necklace of circular elements to r. and brandishing flail ending in two balls; in exergue, V. Lavva 260 (V145/R179) (these dies). VF, toned; obverse slightly off centre; a few very light scratches above the helmet on the reverse.

The warrior seems to wear two beaded strands crossed upon his torso, similar to what the horse has around its neck.
