THESSALY, Proerna. 3rd century BC. Æ Chalkous (14mm, 2.51 g, 9h). Head of nymph facing, her head turned slightly to the r., border of dots / ΠPOEP r. down, NIΩN l. up, Demeter, veiled, standing facing, holding long torch in her l. and wheat ears in her r., in field l., monogram. See Nomos 4, 1328 var. [the monogram on the Nomos coin has an additional I to the r., thus reading ΦʘI for ΦʘIA (Phthia)]. Near VF, dark brown patina with somewhat rough surfaces; a spot of bronze disease on the obv. and a couple on the reverse.
