THESSALY, Koinon of Thessaly. Maximinus I. AD 235-238. Æ Triassarion (24mm, 10.25 g, 12h). ΓAIO OV MAΞIMINOC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; star in lower right field / KOINO N [ΘЄC]CAΛΩ, Nike, holding wreath in extended right hand, reins in left hand, driving triga galloping right; Γ (mark of value) below horses. Burrer, MA-G 43 var. (legends); Rogers 119 var. (same, and no star). Near VF, green patina.

The position of the N, below the horses on the reverse, seems to be a clever way for the celator to position it in order to add it to the end of either words in the legend (both of which should have one as their final letter).
