ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. Uncertain period (post-reform). AH 77-132 / AD 697-750. Æ Fals (22mm, 3.79 g, 5h). Sarmin(?) mint. VF, dark green patina, some encrustation.

While the beginning of the mint formula can be easily read (“bismillah zuriba haza al-fals bi”), the name of the mint is not complete, owing to the poor preservation of the coin. The beginning of the mint name, however, can be read as “sr” and, given the similarity of this type to others from neighboring mints, it is likely that the mint on this coin is Sarmin.
