INDIA, Mughal Empire. Nur al-Din Muhammad Jahangir. 1605-1627. AR Heavy Rupee (23mm, 14.12 g, 9h). Ahmadabad mint. Dated RY 4 and AH 1018 (1609). With the name of Akbar and Jahangir. KM 158.3. Good VF, toned. Rare.
These heavy rupees are 25% overweight and have on the reverse a word (for this issue, ‘Inayat’) which forms a couplet with obverse and reverse. The reverse word is distinctive for each mint.
