MACEDON, Akanthos. Circa 480-470 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.99 g). Lion right, head in neck in fontal perspective, biting into the hindquarter of a bull crouching left; pellet-in-circle above, floral ornament in exergue / Quadripartite incuse square. Desneux 48–68 var. (unlisted rev. dies); AMNG III/2, 4; SNG ANS 10. Good VF, toned, minor double strike and spot of roughness on obverse, scratches under tone on reverse.
