SICILY, Leontinoi. Circa 476-466 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 19mm, 8.54 g 5). Nude jockey on horse walking to right. Rev. ΛΕΟΝΤΙΝΟΝ Head of lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 12 (same dies). SNG ANS 210. Toned. Some slight traces of corrosion on the obverse and evidence of overstriking on the reverse. Good very fine.
