MESOPOTAMIA, Uncertain mint (Edessa?). Marcus Aurelius. AD 161-180. AR Drachm (17mm, 2.12 g, 1h). Struck circa AD 165. AVT K M AVP[HΛ A]NTΩNINOC, bareheaded and cuirassed bust right / VΠEP NIKHC POMAIΩN (
on behalf of the victory of the Romans), Female figure standing left, holding phiale and baton (or anchor) set on ground. Cf. RPC Online temp. no. 9578 (for obv.); BMC pp. xcviii-xcix (for series); otherwise unpublished. VF, bright surfaces, poorly struck. Apparently unique.
