BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, c. 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34mm, 17.02 g 12), c. later 160s. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull’s horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm branch; below right, monogram. Bopearachchi Series 6E, 29. Mitchiner 177ee. SNG ANS 465. A superb, lightly toned, lustrous, beautifully struck coin, perfectly centered on a broad flan. An exceptionally fine example. Virtually as struck.
