Edward the Confessor. 1042-1066. AR Penny (1.26 gm). Thetford mint; Blacere, moneyer. Hammer cross type, 1059-1062. EDPARD D REX, crowned bust right, with sceptre / +BLACERA ON DET, voided cross with "swordhilt" terminals. Cf. BMC 1548; North 828/1; SCBC 1182. Toned, good VF, slight flan crack. ($300)
