INDIA, Gupta Empire. First Dynasty. Chandragupta II Vikramaditya. Circa AD 380-413. AV Dinar (20mm, 8.07 g, 12h). Lion-Slayer type (Class I, Variety b). Chandragupta standing left with flexed knee, turning right and drawing bow at lion to right falling backward / Durgā seated facing on lion recumbent right, feet on lotus, holding munḍamāla (garland of skulls) and lotus; tamgha to left. BKB 175; BMC Guptas 112; Altekar pl. VI, 12; Bayana 1177. EF, minor flan split. Very rare.
