MACEDON, Akanthos. Circa 430-390 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 14.29 g, 1h). Lion right, attacking bull crouching left; [AΛE in exergue] / AKA-N-ΘIO-N in shallow incuse around quadripartite square, the quarters raised and granulated. Desneux – (D133/R134 – unlisted die combination); AMNG III –; SNG ANS –; ACGC 457 = SNG Ashmolean 2204 (same obv. die); Traité IV 1060 (same obv. die). EF, toned, a little die wear, obverse a little off center.
