SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.07 g, 1h). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint II. Struck circa 296/5-281 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / Athena, brandishing spear, shield on left arm, in quadriga of elephants right; anchor and Θ above, HPA monogram to left, Z in exergue. SC 130.25b corr. (control marks); HGC 9, 18a; Mektepini 641 corr. (same; same rev. die); Triton XVI, lot 544 (same rev. die). Good VF, a little die wear and a couple marks. Rare.


SC cited the Mektipini coin as the sole example of variety 130.25b, but that piece was too worn to show all the control marks.
