KINGS of MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios. 323-317 BC. AV Stater (18mm, 8.58 g, 9h). With the types of Philip II. Pella mint. Struck under Antipater or Polyperchon, circa 323-318/7 BC. Head of Apollo right, wearing laurel wreath / ΦIΛIΠΠOY, charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving fast biga right; facing head of bull below. Le Rider 528c (D189/R385 – this coin); SNG ANS 178–9; SNG Copenhagen 527 (same dies). EF, attractively toned, a little die wear on obverse. Fine style.
