Diadumenian. As Caesar, AD 217-218. AR Quinarius (14mm, 1.10 g, 1h). Rome mint. 1st emission of Macrinus, AD 217. M OPEL ANT DIADVMENIAN CAES, draped bust right / PRINC IVVENTVTIS, Diadumenian standing facing, head left, holding standard in right hand, cradling scepter in left arm. RIC IV 111 var. (standard to right on rev.); King 4 var. (same); RSC 17 var. (same); BMC 83 var. (same). Good VF, toned, minor porosity, some encrustation on reverse. Second known quinarius of Diadumenian, the other in the BM, and a unique variety without second standard on reverse.
