Tetricus I. Romano-Gallic Emperor, AD 271-274. AV Aureus (19mm, 3.95 g, 12h). Treveri (Trier) mint. Struck circa Autumn AD 272. IMP C TETRICVS P F AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right, slight drapery / P M TR P II COS P P, Tetricus, holding spear in right hand and with shield over shoulder, on horseback right; officer behind, with standard over shoulder, on horseback right. RIC V –; Schulte Group 4, 32a (Av16/Rv20) = Elmer 808 = Perret 126 = Lafaurie pl. 5, 102 = Biaggi 1560 (this coin); Calicó 3886 (this coin illustrated). EF, toned, flan crack. Apparently unique, with a fantastic pedigree.
