Phase IIb, circa 866-868/70. + BVRGRED REX –, diademed bust right; double inner circle / HYGERED across central field; M◊N ETA:· in open lunettes above and below. MacKay V3.9 (O2/R2) = J. Rashleigh, “An Account of Anglo-Saxon Coins...found at Trewhiddle...” in NC 1868, 15 (this coin); SCBI –; BMC 339; North 426; SCBC 941. Good VF, dark tone. Rare variety with double inner circle on obverse.
