KINGS of PAEONIA. Lykkeios. 356-335 BC. AR Tetradrachm (11.97 gm). Laureate head of Zeus right; in the style of tetradrachms of Philip II of Macedon / Herakles strangling the Nemean lion, bow and quiver behind. SNG ANS -; AMNG III -; Sotheby's, "Paeonian Hoard," 62. Good VF, obverse double struck, small pit. Extremely rare. ($500)

The style of the obverse dies of Lykkeios' tetradrachms typically do not present such a close stylistic similarity to that of Philip II's, though the two are contemporary rulers. Such evidence is crucial for establishing the historical record for enigmatic rulers like Lykkeios, for whom numismatics are such a major part. The Paeonian Hoard coin is apparently the only published example of this type, but is struck from different dies than the present coin.
