CELTIC, Gaul to Central Europe. Lot of three hundred AR, Billon, Potin and Æ, from an early collection. A large collection of Celtic coins, mostly Gaul, with other examples from Spain, Britain and Central Europe. What is fascinating about the collection is that many come with original tickets or envelopes from the 1920's. Many were purchased from the famous coin dealer Thomas L. Elder, with other dealers from Europe represented, such as Spink in London, Boudeau, Florange and Platt in Paris and J. Schulman in Amsterdam. Average Fair to Fine.
