KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.75 gm). Temnos mint. Civic issue, struck circa 188-170 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre; sphinxes on throne legs; in left field, monograms above oinochoe within vine-tendril. Price 1686; Müller 958. Good VF, well centered on a broad flan, very minor double strike on reverse. ($250)
