KINGS of MACEDON. Philip V. 221-179 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.46 gm). Pella or Amphipolis mint. Struck circa 188/4-179 BC. Helmeted head of Philip as the hero Perseus left, harpa over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield; shield decorated with seven six-pointed stars within double crescents / Club; AP monogram above, two monograms below; all within oak-wreath; plow to outer left. Mamroth, Philip 7; cf. AMNG III 3; SNG Alpha Bank 1052 var. (bottom right monogram). Good VF, scattered light roughness. ($750)
