Legend in square with Muhammad Ghazi's titles; date below / Kalima in square; mint name- "Arakan" in margin. CIS B960; Rajgor 575; MWI pg. 362. Good VF, full strike on broad flan. Rare. ($400)

Muhammad Ghazi was governor of Bengal province under the Suri sultan Islam Shah, but in 1552 took advantage of the weak central administration and declared himself an independent ruler. His dynasty only lasted until 1564, when his son Jalal Shah was deposed by another usurper, Da'ud Dhah Kararani.
