Col. HH Farzand-i-Dilband Rasikh-ul-Itikad Daulat-i-Inglishia Raja-i-Rajgan Maharaja Sir Ranbir Singh Rajendra Bahadur (1887-1948) was the seventh Sikh raja of Jind since the founding of the state in 1763, contributed greatly to the modernization of Jind, and was a loyal supporter of the British raj, participating in the Dehli Durbars of 1903 and 1911. The only coin of Jind was struck on the occasion of his silver anniversary in 1937. All published examples are silver Nazarana rupees, but it is not unusual to find occasional gold (mohur) strikes of such presentation issues from other states. The dies on this piece show signs of long use, so it may have been struck after the silver pieces.
