OCTAVIAN. 38 BC. Æ Sestertius or Dupondius (16.99 g, 3h). Southern Italian(?) mint. Bare head of Octavian right, wearing slight beard; six-rayed star before / DIVOS/IVLIVS in two lines across field; all within wreath. Crawford 535/2; RPC I 621; CRI 309; Sydenham 1336; Cohen 95 (Julius Caesar). Near VF, black-green patina with traces of green, minor areas of roughness. ($300)
