BOIOTIA, Thespiai. Early-mid 4th century BC. Lot of two AR Obols. Both coins: Boiotian shield / Two vertical crescents back to back; all within incuse circle. Varieties: (a) Obol (0.72 g). On reverse: Q-E-(three-barred sigma)-PI clockwise outward around from the top. Head, Boeotia p. 55; BMC 2, pl. XVI, 6 // (b) Obol (0.50 g). On reverse: Q-E-(three-barred sigma-PI clockwise outward around from the top. Unpublished variety. Coins VF and Near VF, respectively. Two (2) coins in lot. ($200)
