BOIOTIA, Thespiai. Domitian. 81-96 AD. Lot of three Æ. All obverses: Laureate head right, AU DO KAI SE GER clockwise from left around. Varieties: (a) Æ 18mm (4.22 g, 10h). Reverse: Apollo standing facing, holding plectrum and lyre; QESPI-EwN clockwise around from the lower left. RPC 266.6 (this coin) // (b) Æ 12mm (4.84 g, 1h). Reverse: as last, but Q-ESPI-EwN clockwise around from the upper right. RPC 266 var. (legend) // (c) Æ 17mm (4.40 g, 8h). Female figure standing left, holding cornucopia and patera; QESPI-EwN clockwise around from the lower left. RPC 267.5 (this coin). Coins are Fine to VF condition. All quite rare, RPC lists a total of 7 known from (a) and (b) and 5 known from (c), all in public collections except the BCD pieces. Three (3) coins in lot. ($500)
