BOIOTIA, Orchomenos. Circa 525-500 BC. AR Obol (1.10 g). Wheat grain, sprouting end upward; E to right / Small square incuse quartered perpendicularly, with one diagonal line. Traité I 1342, pl. XLI, 20 corr. (one not two diagonal lines); SNG Fitzwilliam 2875 corr. (no R on obv.). Good VF, obverse a little off centre but showing the letter to advantage. ($200)

The pattern of the incuse on the reverse of this and the following two lots parallel a similar series at Thebes (see lots 319-321 below).
