BOIOTIA, Thebes. 525-480 BC. AR Hemidrachm (2.95 g). Boiotian shield / Square incuse quartered perpendicularly, with one diagonal line, each quarter with diagonal line is partially filled. VF, even grey tone, minor marks on shield, light surface granularity. Apparently unpublished. ($400)

It is possible that the pattern on the reverse is a derivative of that on the previous coin. The pattern here and on the following two lots parallel a similar series at Orchomenos (see lots 185-187, above).
