BASILEWS SWTHROS NIKIOU, diademed and draped bust right / "Maharajasa tratarasa Nikiasa" in Kharosthi, Nikias, wearing diadem and helmet, seated on horse rearing right; monogram. Cf. Bopearachchi Série 2/5-6 (for obv./rev. types); cf. SNG ANS 1264/1266 (same); cf. MIG Type 378/381 (same); MACW -. EF, lightly toned, hairline flan crack. Unique. ($7500)

The drachms of Nikias are extremely rare. There are none published with this reverse type, which is the primary type on his bronze coinage. The monogram on this coin is also unpublished for his coinage.
