[Ancient] INDIA, Guptas. Chandragupta II. Circa 380-414 AD. AV Dinar (7.79 g, 12h). Lion-slayer type. Chandragupta standing left with flexed knee, turning to draw his bow in a "Parthian shot" at a lion which sprawls over backward / The goddess Lakshmi seated cross-legged on a rÉcumbent lion left, holding uncertain object and lotus; tamgha to left. The references describe Lakshmi on this type as not holding anything in her extended right hand, but on this coin she appears to hold a small round object with dependant pearls.
