RUSSIA. Alexei Mikhailovich. 1645-1676. AR Yefimok (Jefimok) (28.05 g, 7h). Dated 1655. A taler of Halberstadt, dated 1542, countermarked on obverse with two punches: horseman right with monogram below in dotted circle (Type I) and date in plain rectangle (Type III). Coin: Davenport 9210; Countermarks: Efimki -, but cf. 1008-1009 for later Talers of Halberstadt; Kaim I p. 126-129; KM -. Coin VF, c/ms good VF, toned. One of the earliest dated Talers to receive the jefimok countermarks. ($1000)
