PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter. 305-282 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.55 g, 12h). Ptolemaic standard. Alexandreia mint. Stuck in the name of Alexander III of Macedon, circa 305-298/7 BC. Diademed head of Alexander right, wearing elephant's skin headdress / Athena Alkidemos advancing right; to right, helmet above HP monogram above eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Svoronos 170; Jenkins, Early, Group d; SNG Copenhagen 27. VF, lightly toned, a few scratches, flan flaw on cheek, banker’s mark on reverse.
