MYSIA, Pergamum. Septimius Severus, with Julia Domna. AD 193-211. Æ Medallion (44mm, 43.73 g, 6h). Claudianus Terpander, strategus. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Severus right, seen form behind, and draped bust of Julia left, vis-à-vis; c/m: laureate head of Caracalla right within in incuse oval / Herakles standing right, wrestling the Cerynean Hind; KL-ADIANOV TEPPA/NDPOV in legend. For coin: cf. SNG France 2208-2211 (for obv. type; same obv. die); SNG Copenhagen 497; SNG von Aulock -; for c/m: Howgego 70. VF, blue-black patina, cut on obverse.

As the cut goes through the portrait of Caracalla, this mark is quite probably an example of damnatio memoriae.
