Pescennius Niger. AD 193-194. AR Denarius (3.49 g, 12h). Antioch mint. [IMP] CAES C PE-SCE NIGER IV A, laureate head right / FORTVN-A-E REDV, Fortuna standing left, holding rudder in right hand, cradling double cornucopia in left arm. Cf. RIC IV 25 (for type); cf. RSC 24 (same); cf. BMCRE p. 76 (same). Superb EF, attractive toning. Very rare. Unpublished variety. Exceptional silver quality and strike for issue.
