Nerva. AD 96-98. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.28 g). Rome mint. Struck AD 97. Laureate head right / Simpulum, sprinkler, ewer and lituus. RIC II 23; BMCRE 31; RSC 52. Good VF, nice metal. The reverse die for this coin was used earlier in it’s life (without the die breaks at the bottom of the simpulum and lituus) for a a possibly unique aureus, see the Montagu Collection (Rollin and Feuardent, 20 April 1896), lot 250.
