Length of 14 karat yellow gold rope chain: 51cm (20 inches); weight (of entire necklace and pendant with coin): 21.07g. For coin: The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. April-August 49 BC. Fourrée Denarius. Military mint traveling with Caesar. Elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Emblems of the pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, securis, and apex. Cf. Crawford 443/1; cf. CRI 9; cf. Sydenham 1006; cf. RSC 49; cf. RBW 1557. Toned, some scratches, marks, and light porosity, break in plating on reverse. Good Fine. An interesting piece of coin jewelry.
