The Triumvirs. Mark Antony and Octavian. Spring-early summer 41 BC. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 3.46 g, 12h). Ephesus mint. M. Barbatius Pollio, quaestor pro praetore. Bare head of Mark Antony right / Bare head of Octavian right. Crawford 517/2 note; CRI 243 note; Sydenham 1181 var. (obv. legend); RSC 8d; RBW –. Lightly toned, crystallized, bent, substantial flan crack, scratches. VF. One of the less frequently encountered legend varieties with Q P on the obverse and R R P C on the reverse. Fragile.
