Laureate head right / Tetrastyle temple, within; statue of Asclepius standing facing, head left, leaning on serpent entwined staff left, coiled serpent (?) in pediment. Tachev, Pautalia 68 (O13/R56); Ruzicka 285 var. (obv. legend); Varbanov 4631. Brown patina, minor roughness and smoothing. VF. Extremely rare. Both Tachev and Varbanov cite the same coin (Lanz 117, lot 863), this appears to be the second known example. |
